Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, an action-packed game developed by Team Reptile, has a set release date of August 18, 2023. The game will be available for both Steam and Nintendo Switch players, offering an immersive experience in the world of graffiti and urban culture.
In the imaginative future world created by Dion Koster, players are introduced to New Amsterdam, a sprawling metropolis where graffiti crews compete for control of the streets. Equipped with personal boostpacks, players can start their own cypher, dance, paint graffiti, collect beats, perform tricks, and confront cops to assert their dominance over rival crews.
The protagonist of the game, Red, is a graffiti writer who has lost his head and now has an AI robohead. As he searches for his roots, Red joins the Bomb Rush Crew alongside Tryce and Bel. Their goal is to go All City, gradually uncovering the truth about who severed Red’s head and the depth of his human connection to the graffiti world.
Players will be able to explore five main boroughs of New Amsterdam, gaining reputation (REP) by hitting graffiti spots. REP is essential for challenging rival crews in Crew Battles. Throughout the city, players can find new crew members, graffiti pieces to paint, outfit colors, and music to play on their flip phones.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk features a unique environment-based trick system, allowing players to perform skateboarding, inline skating, or BMX-style tricks. Combos can be extended with manuals, and incorporating special Boost Tricks results in even higher scores. Performing long combos grants boost power, making stylish movement the fastest way to navigate the game.
As players progress and vandalize the city, they will encounter dynamic military police that scale up in response to their actions. The objective is to battle rival crews and outmaneuver the military police to conquer the five boroughs of New Amsterdam and ultimately become All City.
