Book of Travels, the so-called “Tiny MORPG” from Might and Delight, has decided to surprise fans with free DLC to celebrate passing its first anniversary. This DLC is dubbed “1 Year EA Anniversary Digital Goodies”, and includes plenty of artwork, which is one of the key selling points of the game. Fans who own the game on Steam can download it today:

Book of Travels received lots of strong reviews, but strangely didn’t find quite as much word of mouth, and certainly not as much as it deserved. It musters an incredible amount of freedom for such a small game, and the environments are very engaging.

The art design in Book of Travels is very lush, and it creates a genuine aura of mystery that’s actually worth exploring. The same cannot always be said of even the biggest, AAA open world games, which can often rely on brand popularity or even the genre itself to bolster their replay value.

According to the devs’ full blog post today, there will be a handful of hand painted digital art, which is definitely a joy to discover. The artwork is a signature style from developer and publisher Might and Delight, which recently announced that their very first game Pid would finally reach Nintendo Switch:

A highlight from the DLC is also a couple of mp3 tracks from the original score, which is probably juicier for casual players than some fleeting images. Later on, the devs supplied fans with an easy zip file for the DLC:

This DLC may not have much content, but it is a free celebration of the game, and may renew some interest since we’re so far removed from launch.
