Brawlhalla has officially been updated with this year’s “Brawlhallidays” event, which includes lots of holiday themed cosmetics, such as the annual event’s first emote and new skins for Caspian and Jaeyun. There will also be snow added to a few the maps, alongside snowflakes in the UI that lead to exclusive items.

Brawlhalla’s holiday events generally last between 3 and 4 weeks, but a concrete end date was not mentioned in the official patch notes. Here’s the tweet from Brawlhalla’s feed:

Developer Blue Mammoth Games recently updated Brawlhalla with a massive 7.0.2 patch, which added an early preview of the Challenges system, as well as the new legend Tezca and their unique Battle Boots weapon. Recently, the game even added an emote to participate in Ubisoft’s environment-themed events, which were announced last month.

Brawlhalla has continued to evolve since launch, and it has mainly managed to distinguish itself from Super Smash Bros. with creative original characters. It’s free-to-play, available on a variety of platforms, and frequently features some very compelling IP crossovers like Street Fighter.

It’s a little disappointing that Tezca couldn’t participate in their first holiday event with a dedicated cosmetic, but the existing characters definitely deserved some love.

Fans were very pleased to see Caspian get a new skin, since they tend to be overlooked. But both new outfits for Caspian and Jaeyun are solid, though they might not compare to previous years. There’s just enough detail and personality to justify investing in them.

There will be 14 other festive skins, an exclusive Winner Wonderland ’22 Podium, and various returning cosmetics for avatars, weapons and more. Following last year’s “Festive Brawler” title, there will be a Holly Jolly Brawler title for 2022.

It’s much appreciated that the broad holiday colors are universal, and can be purchased for any legend with gold. There’ll be a daily login bonus too, which will help players celebrate more easily. Only a couple of the week’s free-to-play legend rotation actually have a featured holiday cosmetic.
