Brawlhalla has officially released the final big reveals in its latest livestream, including gameplay footage of the new map Shorwind, a new game mode “Dice and Destruction”, the next battle pass launch date, and more.

Battle Pass 7 will roll out tomorrow on January 25th, 2023, following previous update patterns. It will include the teased balance patch preview, as well as some experimental signature reworks for Isaiah and Vector. Brawlhalla recently revealed other Battle Pass 7 details last week, including the tabletop RPG theme and some new sidekicks. But it’s clear the devs saved the best for last, as today’s stream was brimming with far more information.

The new map Shorwind, featuring the Salty Sailor ship in a fishing port, has a simple design that may underwhelm some longtime fans, but the art style and background animations are certainly gorgeous. At the very least, Shorwind also plays a large role in the lore, and the theme is fun.

The new Dice and Destruction game mode was a clear highlight today. The chaos isn’t quite as controlled as one would hope, but it will definitely shake up gameplay and encourage players to strategize a bit more.

The unpredictability of the dice roll at the beginning of a match will also improve replay value. It should even give players the chance to get the upper hand if they excel in different scenarios. The dice doesn’t just introduce sprawling obstacles, but also affects mechanics. That’s what really makes the mode promising, because it basically transforms Brawlhalla into a party game akin to Fall Guys.

Today’s livestream closed out by revealing a Valentine’s Day update and content, which is expected to launch on February 8th, 2023.
