Publisher Versus Evil officially announced that the narrative-driven turn-based RPG, Broken Roads, is scheduled to launch on November 13, 2023, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Alongside the release date announcement, Versus Evil has also shared a new trailer, showcasing some of the exciting gameplay features of Broken Roads.
Developed by Drop Bear Bytes, Broken Roads promises to deliver a rich, engaging narrative set in post-apocalyptic Australia. Within this desolate yet intricately detailed world, players will learn its deep history, and meet a cast of intriguing characters in complex storylines, branching quests, and memorable encounters. As they embark on this epic journey, players will uncover hidden secrets, unravel political intrigues, and confront moral dilemmas that challenge their assumptions about right and wrong.
Broken Roads blends classic RPG elements with innovative features, allowing for a unique and customizable gameplay experience. Diverging from the traditional class-based system, Broken Roads offers a wide range of character development options, enabling players to shape their abilities and skills to suit their playstyle. Its all-new role-playing elements add depth and complexity to the game’s mechanics, intriguing moral choices, and immersive narrative arcs.
One of Broken Roads‘ key features is the “Moral Compass,” which introduces a unique morality system that goes beyond traditional notions of good and evil, focusing instead on a character’s philosophical leaning. This feature allows players to shape their protagonist’s worldview in unique and nuanced ways. With every tough decision, the character’s Moral Compass can shift, potentially broadening or narrowing their perspective, or even entirely changing their morality as the journey progresses.
Broken Roads is available to wishlist on Steam and Xbox Store for those who want to be notified as soon as it is released.
