COD’s “Operation Monarch” event isn’t due until May 11th, but one of the Tracer Packs has just been released five days early.

Here’s the announcement from Call of Duty’s official Twitter feed, featuring lots of Godzilla:

Some fans have been frustrated with Call of Duty lately, and they’re mainly looking forward to MWII, which just got a logo reveal on April 28th. But this tie-in with the current Monsterverse is almost guaranteed to boost the player count.

There’s no question that the current film series featuring Godzilla is a runaway success, even though every sequel is stranger than the last. That’s because fans tend to enjoy more time with the creatures than the humans, and including more fantasy just feels closer to the classics.

Tracer Pack details and skins

Now, a wider fanbase and Call of Duty fans alike can enjoy a Godzilla-themed Legendary Operator skin. The suit features Godzilla’s trademark spikes, and the mask hints at Godzilla’s signature blue energy from the new films, as seen with his atomic breath. However, it might make you a more noticeable target.

It also comes with the “Breath of Godzilla” Ultra Weapon blueprint, which turned out to be the highlight for most fans. This assault rifle is based on the STG44.

The other available skin is the “Awakened Alpha” Legendary Weapon blueprint. It’s an LMG that features the same scales, but has less detail, and it’s based on the Bren LMG.

Both weapons will also share some neat pacific blue tracer rounds, as yet another reference to Godzilla’s classic attack.

Finally, the pack will feature a new Calling Card, Emblem, and two Sprays. All of them feature Godzilla in some way. Although the Calling Card is called “Protector of Earth”, fans know that Godzilla is frequently an enemy, so the “Titan Destruction” spray is more on point.
