Infinity Ward, a developer behind the hit Call of Duty franchise, has just revealed that it will build another team in Barcelona, Spain, to work side by side with the Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile team Digital Legends. Peter McCabe will take on a leadership role for the new team.
Today’s announcement included a detailed official blog, which states that the new team will concentrate on “next-gen quality art”. The blog also reveals that Digital Legends will be sharing “creative ideas and leading-edge asset creation” with Infinity Ward, expanding their relationship.

Infinity Ward’s new investment in their European presence should definitely please fans, as mobile experiences in any franchise generally need more support. A team dedicated to art will be useful in helping Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile distinguish itself from the competition.
There can also be functional differences between core franchises and their mobile counterparts, and often times, unique features come up that would benefit both. So, creating more synergy between Infinity Ward and Digital Legends won’t just feel more consistent. It will encourage a pool of the best ideas, leading all sides of the series to succeed.
The Call of Duty franchise has been changing quite a lot lately, and fans can probably expect that to continue in its near future. For example, it was recently announced that Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera would be shutting down this September.
Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has already set a pretty high bar for the mobile scene, with stunning graphics and smooth animation that makes it easier for players to concentrate normally on strategy. It’ll be a delight to see how the devs further improve and innovate content.
