In Starfield, when creating their characters, players have the opportunity to add Traits to their characters. after choosing their background. These Traits are not just for show; choosing one may alter your gameplay experience. With 17 different Traits to choose from, each offering their buffs and advantages, the decision-making process can be a bit overwhelming. But what if you regret your choice later on? Can you change these Traits as you delve deeper into the game? Let’s find out.

Starfield – Can You Switch Traits

The short answer is no. Once you’ve embarked on your journey in Starfield, you’re committed to the Traits you’ve chosen. This means the initial selection process is more or less crucial. You’ll need to carefully weigh the pros and cons of each Trait, considering both their buffs and their disadvantages. Align your Trait choices with your preferred playstyle to have a unique experience through the game.

Over time, as you become more familiar with the game, you might even find that you barely notice the Traits you’ve chosen. Well, apart from Wanted, that’s going to always hit you when you least expect it; take it from me. I chose that trait!

However, there’s a silver lining. While you can’t change your Traits, you can remove them. This action will permanently erase the Trait, along with its associated buffs and abilities. For PC players, there’s an additional option: using Console Commands to replace and change Traits. But be cautious: using these commands will disable all in-game achievements, though if you’re really not enjoying it, it may be worth it.
