Blade Ball – Can You Trade?

Blade Ball does not have a traditional trading system or any trading at all. Players are unable to trade skills, swords skins, or in-game currency directly with one another, and it is doubtful a trading system will ever come to the experience.

The Game’s Direction and Developer’s Stance

The developers of Blade Ball have expressed their decision not to implement trading, as it would significantly shift the game’s focus. Trading could transform Blade Ball into a game similar to Zo Samurai, where trading becomes a central aspect. The developers aim to maintain the game’s current direction without such a fundamental change.

Developer Feedback: Reasons Against Trading

Viddo, a developer of Blade Ball, has provided clear reasons for not implementing trading:

  1. Duplication Issues: The risk of duplication bugs is high. A single significant bug could disrupt the game’s economy.
  2. Economic Impact on Developers: The game’s revenue model relies partly on loot crates. Trading could reduce the demand for these crates, leading to a potential decrease in income.
  3. Diversion of Development Resources: Implementing and maintaining a trading system would require significant time and resources, diverting attention from other important features.
  4. Ongoing Monitoring Needs: Due to the risk of duplication and other issues, a trading system would need constant monitoring and management.

Viddo also mentions that introducing trading might seem beneficial for players, but it could lead to a substantial reduction in the game’s income, impacting its development and sustainability. You can view the PSA – No Trading Ever suggestion here if you are part of the Blade Ball Discord.

While some players favor the idea of trading for a more varied gameplay experience, others agree with the developers, understanding the potential negative impacts. The Blade Ball team values community feedback and might consider future updates or changes based on player responses and game development needs, but at the moment, there is no trading in Blade Ball.
