Capcom has recently announced the upcoming release of Mega Man X DiVE Offline for PC, iOS, and Android platforms. As the title suggests, this new iteration is an offline adaptation of the well-received free-to-play mobile game, Mega Man X DiVE. The launch is scheduled for 2023.
The game is the newest entrant to the hit action series Mega Man X. The gameplay allows players to bolster their characters and weapons with various power-ups, customizing them to personal preferences. This refined customization then faces the test in Mega Man X’s side-scrolling “what-if” scenarios.
In Mega Man X DiVE Offline, the storyline is set in the Cyberworld region of Deep Log, a digital universe where game data from various titles are stored. A mysterious bug has caused the game data for Mega Man X to be corrupted. Players are guided by RiCO, a Navigator, to “DiVE” into the world of Deep Log and unravel the unfolding mystery. The goal is to take control of Hunter Programs based on X, Zero, and other Hunters to combat Maverick data and repair the game.
Several characters central to the Mega Man series will be present in Mega Man X DiVE Offline. These include X, a peace-loving B-Class Hunter; Zero, X’s comrade and a skilled Special A-Class Hunter; Alia, a behind-the-scenes supporter with superior analytical skills; Axl, a defected new-generation Reploid prototype; Vile, a former Maverick Hunter with unchecked violent tendencies; Iris, a gentle soul caught between her brother and Zero; and Sigma, the former leader of X’s 17th Elite Unit hellbent on a Reploid utopia.
The game will feature a variety of systems, including:
- Weapons and Armor: Players can power up weapons to their maximum player level. Higher player ranks unlock more skills and power-up options. Equipping armor enhances defense, HP, and other stats.
- DiVE Trigger (Super Attack): Each stage allows players to use a super attack once, ideal for tight spots. The attack’s rank and stats can be increased using exclusive materials.
- Story Mode: The primary game mode has players completing stages and progressing through the narrative. Experience points earned can be used to boost player level and obtain character and weapon cultivation materials.
- Challenge Mode: Players can test their skills by ascending the Jakob Orbital Elevator and completing tough stages. A Time Attack feature lets players compete for the best times.
- Event Mode: Features story stages and original sub-story stages based on other Mega Man games. Completion of these stages yields character-data fragments and other level-up items.
