The CEO of Larian Studios, Swen Vincke retweeted the studio’s request to have everyone vote for their favorite game at the Game Awards. Currently, there are a few going up against Baldur’s Gate 3, but Vincke seemed to want to tease another new game.

In his tweet, Vincke said that it was an honor to be among the games that have gone up for Game of the Year. While this is a big deal, he mentioned that there was a “next big game” in the works. The studio has already done magnificent things with the small budget they had before. Baldur’s Gate 3’s popularity would bring in a lot more money for the next game.

There was nothing other than a small tease that another game was coming, so we don’t have much to go on. I doubt it’s Baldur’s Gate 4 or anything, the series tends to wait a bit before sequels are released. He called his game a “Niche RPG” and maybe it was at the time.

Baldur’s Gate 3 evolved from a niche RPG to Triple-A worthy soon after the game was fully released. The excitement and love that players had for the game was unprecedented. The crew has already swept the Golden Joystick Awards but it looks like the Game Awards will be the next place where the game will dominate.

It’s crazy because this was the same year that Starfield, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and Super Mario Bros. Wonder released. These games would have swept the Game Awards by themselves normally. This is a year of huge heavy hitters for Triple-A games and Baldur’s Gate 3 is an underdog (before release) that brought a lot to the table.

I am curious to see what the next game is, and how well Baldur’s Gate 3 will do. However, the second we get more news on the next game, we’ll make sure to keep you all informed here.
