Cherrim is one of the tougher species to locate in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. You will have to keep an eye out for shaking berry trees in a variety of different areas and hope one falls into your lap. Once you’ve secured yourself a Cherrim, you will then need to see them use the move Petal Dance many times to complete your tasks. The reason Cherrim is so hard to catch is that first it’s a pretty rare spawn. When you knock on trees, you are more likely to get a Burmy. The other problem is that if Cherrim transforms to the Sunny version while in battle, it will be impossible to catch due to a bug. This is obviously pretty annoying, but you can circumvent this by only searching for Cherrim at night! You can change the time in the game by heading to your tent and sleeping until nightfall.
Petal Dance
Cherrim will learn the move Petal Dance in Pokemon Legends: Arceus when it reaches level 47 in the game. You will then need to bring your Cherrim to level 59 for them to master the move, which allows you to use Agile and Heavy styles.
There’s no real trick to getting the move, you just need to level up your Cherrim. If you want to get this done fast, you can always farm Blissey. An Alpha spawn of Blissey can be found in the Obsidian Fieldlands to the east of Obsidian Falls. Bring a high level Fighting-type Pokemon and take it down. This will get you a bunch of experience for defeating it, and can get you EXP items that you can use on your Pokemon.
Once you finished off Blissey, you can head back to Jubilife Village then return to Obsidian Fieldlands again and it will have respawned!
You will need to see Cherrim use Petal Dance 40 different times to complete the research task for it in full. If that’s your objective, then just get out there and battle with it a whole lot!
