Broken Roads is an upcoming debut title from Drop Bear Bytes, an Australian indie studio. This single-player game blends traditional and all-new RPG elements to create an immersive narrative with unlimited character development options.
As players travel across the desolated and post-apocalyptic Australian lands, an exciting feature they will experience is the game’s Moral Compass. The moral compass shows how a character’s philosophical leaning influences dialogue options and quest decisions. The morality system is based on the four areas of moral philosophy: Utilitarianism, Nihilism, Machiavellianism, and Humanism.
From a 360-degree chart, players can choose from the four areas to establish their character’s core alignments. Your choices and dialogue options will also influence your moral compass and influence your future choices and options.
The moral system was developed to establish an element of realism in the game’s role-playing elements. Decisions will not be labeled as good or bad. Players must face moral dilemmas head-on and think about the best option for themselves. It’s also important to note that you can’t suddenly make a good choice after making a bad one.
