City Services has turned out to be one of the more elaborate feature highlights, delving into one of the most impressive management systems in the genre. Even the smallest details of your city have been addressed. It’s intriguing just how mindful the devs were of giving the population itself a more important role.

People can sometimes feel like numbers on a spreadsheet in this genre, and mostly involve keeping them happy with superficial things like landmarks or attractions. Cities: Skylines II has evolved the series in more personal ways, confronting death and welfare head-on.

City Services will also introduce Communications this time around, so players will need to manage internet accessibility in order to keep business booming. Between streaming and socials, it also makes plenty of sense that cities with properly managed internet will be happier.

Today’s trailer showcases how much more control players will have, as well as all of the corresponding problems to overcome. Blackouts, garbage, pollution, and crime prove just how thoughtful this sequel is.

Although many of these City Services are resolved in a streamlined manner to keep things accessible, the sheer range of content is overwhelming. Management and design both feel improved and balanced, as the devs aim to create the most definitive city building experience imaginable.
