Clash of Clans, the strategy video game developed by Supercell, has received a new update today, Builder Base 2.0. This update comes with several improvements to the Builder Base, including a greater emphasis on tactical attacks, adaptability, rewards for attacking and defending, and a more engaging experience for players as they progress.

Among the significant addition offered by the latest Clash of Clans update is the new Builder Hall Level 10. Players who have reached Builder Hall Level 9 can upgrade their base to Builder Hall Level 10, which unlocks the following brand-new features:

  • New Defense: X-Bow
  • New Hero Machine: Battle Copter
  • New Troop: Electrofire Wizard
  • Laboratory allows for Troops to be upgraded to level 20
  • New Building: Healing Hut
  • New Building: Reinforcement Camp
  • New Building: O.T.T.O’s Outpost
  • Hero Machines can be upgraded to level 35

Clash of Clans also welcomes the new robotic construction assistant, B.O.B., to the game with the Builder Base 2.0 update. Players must reach Builder Hall Level 9 and complete tasks to unlock B.O.B. Unlocking B.O.B will also give the player’s Home Village a new permanent 6th Builder.

Supercell has also implemented its biggest change to the Builder Base in this update, which is the Multi-stage Attacks. With this change, Builder Hall Levels 1-5 will progress similarly with a few differences in how players attack and defend. However, at Builder Hall Level 6 and beyond, a new facet of Builder Base opens up. When players unlock the second stage at Builder Hall Level 6, Stage 2 will contain these buildings immediately at Level 1:

  • O.T.T.O’s Outpost
  • Reinforcement Camp
  • Elixir Storage
  • Gold Storage
  • Elixir Pump
  • Gold Mine
  • Archer Tower
  • 10 Walls

Clash of Clans is also introducing two different Star types in Builder Base – Bronze and Silver Stars. Bronze stars are earned by defeating Stage 1 of a multi-stage attack, while Silver Stars are earned by defeating Stage 2. The player can also attack and earn loot after completing the Star Bonus Reward. Thus, players are no longer limited by the previous 3-Win Bonus.

Another significant change in the latest Clash of Clans update is the removal of head-to-head battles in Builder Base. This is made so that players can attack as soon as the previous fight is done. Players can earn Builder Golds by attacking, and gain Builder Elixirs by defending.

To make Builder Base battles more tactical, Supercell has reduced the number of Builder Base Troops per Troop Slot. This will enable players to strategize before attacking. Furthermore, a number is displayed on the Troop Deployment bar to keep track of the Troops more easily.

After completing a Builder Base battle, any surviving troops and Hero Machines are reusable in the next attack. Any Troops that were not deployed during Stage 1 can be changed out for another Troop option before the Stage 2 attack begins. Also, players will be aided by reinforcements, which are extra Troop slots after reaching Stage 2. In addition, when troops are unlocked in the Barracks, they will be immediately promoted to their minimum level.

Several additional changes, fixes, and improvements were also made as part of the Builder Base 2.0 update, which you can read more about on the official Clash of Clans website.
