PQube announced that they would be rereleasing Class of Heroes 1 and 2 onto newer consoles, such as the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. This is a remaster of the game which was originally made on PSP. This is great news for fans of the series, as you’d need an emulator to play today unless you still have an old PSP.
PQube Asia tweeted that Class of Heroes 1: Anniversary Edition & Class of Heroes 2G: Remaster Edition will be coming to PC, Switch & PlayStation 5 in 2024. The games were originally released on PSP in Japan in 2008 and 2012, respectively, before being released in North America in 2009 and 2013.
The Class of Heroes series is a classic dungeon crawler that allows players to take on the role of a student who must crawl through endless dungeons, build a team of up to six students, and take on hordes of enemies. The games are known for their deep customization options, allowing players to choose from a variety of races, classes, and skills for their students.
The gameplay is not very graphically pleasing, you walk around a 2.5-D environment (similar to Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc) and fight enemies that appear as sprites in front of you. The main selling point is the story and the interactions with the characters.
The art is anime, and so those players who like manga, anime, and games with this style will love this remake. If you’ve not played it and fall into the categories above, I’d say try it out.
The Class of Heroes 1 & 2 Complete Edition will include both games, as well as all of their DLC. The games will also feature a number of new features. The games will feature upscaled graphics and resolution, improved performance, new difficulty modes, and new content, including new dungeons and enemies.
