Codeword looks like a crossword, but it has no clues at all. Every square holds a number from 1 to 26, and each number stands for one letter of the alphabet. A few letters are given to start you off, and from there it’s up to you to crack the code and fill in the grid.

Codeword Tips & Strategy
- Hunt for Common Endings: Repeated number pairs at the end of words often turn out to be -ED, -ER, -ES or -ING.
- Find the Vowels: The numbers that show up most across the grid are usually E, A, O and I. Pin down E first and the rest follows quickly.
- Use Double Letters: The same number twice in a row narrows things down fast. LL, EE, SS, OO and TT are the usual suspects.
- Every Letter Is Used: All 26 letters appear somewhere in the grid, so the rare ones like Q, J, X and Z are always there to be found.
About Codeword
Codeword is a daily cipher puzzle that was created by Arkadium. It can be found on a variety of sites, such as USA Today, AARP, Dictionary.com, and Daily Mail. Instead of solving clues, you decode a grid of numbers, using the crossing words to confirm each letter as you go. Once you know which letter belongs to every number, the whole grid falls into place.
