Commandos: Origins has been unveiled as a prequel to the beloved Commandos series. This upcoming installment is the first new game in the series since 2006, and looks like it will bring the style last seen in its 2003 release, Commandos 3: Destination Berlin.

Commandos: Origins will introduce a fresh perspective by immersing players in the early days of the legendary WWII elite force. The trailer highlights the story of experiencing the formative years of the Commandos, watching them evolve into something special. Six iconic characters are featured in the game, including the Green Beret, the Sapper, the Sniper, the Driver, the Marine, and the Spy. These are well-known characters in the series, and any fan of the franchise will be happy to see them return.

It’s coming to Xbox, PC, PlayStation 5, and Game Pass, which is great news for anyone subscribed to the service. The release date was revealed as 2024, so players should be eagerly awaiting further updates as the game gets closer to coming out.

Players in Commandos: Origins will be able to lead their commandos with precision in complex missions thanks to precise and intuitive controls. There are over ten historically authentic WWII missions in the game, set in different environments like the freezing Arctic and the scorching African desert. You can choose your approach, whether it’s stealth, climbing, vehicle operation, or something else.

On top of all that, this is also one of the first Commandos games that players can play with friends, online, or through local split-screen. Commandos: Origins will feature a cooperative multiplayer mode that encourages players to work together on missions. The addition of multiplayer is nice, but definitely changes the gameplay. Most players are used to the pause-and-play nature of the game, where having multiple save files was an absolute must.

Nevertheless, this is the resurgence that players and fans have been waiting for for decades. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
