Cookie Run: Kingdom, the beloved RPG and city builder from developer and publisher Devsisters, has released a brand-new trailer today. It reveals Kouign-Amann Cookie gameplay and teases the big finale of the Triple Cone Cup. The big Arena update is slated to release on April 20th, 2023.

Cookie Run: Kingdom is available now on iOS and Android mobile devices. You can watch today’s new trailer on the Cookie Run: Kingdom YouTube channel here:

In addition to the trailer itself, a new thread on the Cookie Run: Kingdom Twitter feed has revealed the update will also include new candies and costumes, too. A follow-up tweet includes a link to the full patch notes on the game’s Discord server:

Kouign-Amann Cookie somewhat resembles Princess Peach, both visually and thematically. Peach was equally brave and tough in the new Super Mario Bros. Movie, and the new update may be capitalizing on that.

However, Kouign-Amann Cookie is still plenty distinguishable. There’s a boisterous, flamboyant energy to the character that should be fun to play. Not to mention, the swirls in her art design are very clever, and her sword has some Monster Hunter proportions, which looks very satisfying to wield.

Most importantly, sharp-eyed fans have already noted a variety of clues in today’s trailer that suggest Kouign-Amann Cookie will be defensive. During shots of the new Arena, around 40 seconds into the trailer, she seems to be accompanied by the defense icon.

Defense will be a relief compared to all of the recent Charge cookies, which have become oversaturated to say the least. Game devs have a bad habit of leaning into popularity rather than balancing out overlooked classes or roles. Kouign-Amann Cookie should balance out gameplay and her abilities seem genuinely fun.
