Core Keeper is crushing it in early access, and has now reached over 500,000 downloads in the first two weeks of its launched. The game is a mining sandbox adventure for 1-8 players, where you explore an unending tunnel of monsters, relics, and riches. To discover the mysteries of the ancient Core, you will need to mine, build, fight, craft, and farm your way through the game.

While the sales are great, there’s good new for you Steam Deck users out there! The game is now officially verified for the platform according to the developers:

As if all of the above wasn’t cool enough, Core Keeper is now officially verified for Steam Deck! We’re keen to give players plenty of choices when it comes to their Core Keeper experiences, from our various backgrounds and character customisation options all the way to our skill trees and the order you tackle the first handful of bosses. Now, you don’t even have to be sitting at your computer to play Core Keeper, giving you on-the-go access to your underground adventure and the freedom to play whenever you want, wherever you want.

This is really one of the games that was meant for the handheld device, and you would likely get a lot out of it if you’re a fan of games like Minecraft and Terraria. If you’re curious about learning more about the game, you can check out our Core Keeper Early Access Review.

If you are one of the people waiting for this game to launch, you will be likely waiting until the end of 2022 according to the Early Access FAQ:

We expect to leave Early Access before the end of 2022, but it’s also important to us that we remain flexible and respond to players’ thoughts and feedback, which may have an impact on our development roadmap. Our goal will always be to make the best game possible.

There are plans to add more biomes, enemies, bosses, and a whole bunch more items! So, whether you’ve purchased the game or not, you will find there’s a lot more to come in the future.
