Crash Bandicoot and his crew return in a brand-new team-based multiplayer experience called Crash Team Rumble. Developed by Toys For Bob and published by Activision, this 4v4 multiplayer game is set to launch on June 20, 2023. Fans can now pre-order Crash Team Rumble and gain access to the Closed Beta, which takes place from April 20-24. This early access event allows fans to preview the game before its official release and will hopefully offer Toys For Bob valuable feedback from the community to optimize the gaming experience.
The Closed Beta of Crash Team Rumble will showcase five iconic characters from the Crash universe, including Crash Bandicoot, Coco, Tawna, Neo Cortex, and Dingodile. Players can explore three distinct arenas filled with vibrant colors, hazards, and unexpected strategic opportunities. With unique equipable powers and special moves, players must work together to outmaneuver their opponents in the game’s dynamic maps.
Paul Yan, Co-Studio Head at Toys For Bob, expressed excitement for fans to participate in the Closed Beta, noting the importance of community feedback in refining the game for its official release. Crash Team Rumble features a variety of playable characters, each with specific roles like Blocker, Booster, or Scorer. Teams must strategically employ these roles to collect the most Wumpa fruit while defending against opponents. Unique Relic Powers add another layer of strategy, enabling players to gain an advantage and secure victory. The game also supports cross-platform play, allowing for seamless competition across multiple consoles.
Crash Team Rumble will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The Standard Edition, priced at $29.99, includes the full game, post-launch content, access to the Closed Beta (for pre-orders), and the Season 1 Premium Battle Pass. The Deluxe Edition, available for $39.99, adds 25 instantly unlocked Battle Pass tiers, the Season 2 Premium Battle Pass, and the digital “Proto Pack” featuring customization options for heroes and villains. Both editions offer access to post-launch seasonal content.
