Cult of the Lamb, the hit action and roguelike indie from developer Massive Monster and publisher Devolver Digital, has just released a key art reveal for an upcoming expansion.

The free new expansion, Relics of the Old Faith, will feature an all-new kitchen, crypt, organized farming, and shared shelter. It still doesn’t have a release date, but fans will be able to try the new content at the Devolver Digital booth for PAX East this year:

Cult of the Lamb remains one of the most relentlessly original and compelling games in the industry, let alone among its indie peers. It blends a variety of genres like base building and adventure in order to fit the vision, rather than the other way around. The game has distinguished itself beyond games that are satisfied to elaborate in the slightest way.

The free new expansion may be an outright answer to various requested features, but it’s clear they will be introduced in a consistent and inventive way. The majority of these changes will smooth out even more of the smaller in-game hiccups, focusing on improving the player’s quality of life.

The key art that was revealed today is every bit as chaotic and colorful as the rest of the game’s imagery. The staging of the scene itself is largely familiar and straightforward, but it’s the smaller details that fans will enjoy nitpicking here. Speculation won’t last long, since a playable booth is coming soon, but the key artwork is certainly packed with great lighting, humor, and edge.

Today’s reveal closely follows the new animation from Mashed, Cult of the Lamb: Doom & Shroom, which further reinforces just how much the game continues to evolve and smartly renew interest:
