Kitbash Model Club, an upcoming RC model simulation game from developer Floating Origin Interactive and publisher Curve Games, has just been revealed with a new gameplay trailer.
Naturally, it’s too early for a release date to be confirmed. But Kitbash Model Club will be available on Steam, where players can wishlist the game today. You can watch the full introduction trailer on the Curve Games YouTube channel:
Floating Origin Interactive is a relatively new development studio headed by Felipe Falanghe, who was also the creator of beloved space flight simulator Kerbal Space Program. As a result, there’s a lot of that energy, ambition, and freedom in the new trailer for Kitbash Model Club.
To begin with, Kitbash Model Club simply has a terrific premise. Models require a lot of time and dedication, but they are often only displayed and admired. To imagine them as fully functioning vehicles truly breathes life into these models. And that will create a perpetual sense of discovery, so that construction and exploration never become dull.
There are many open world crafting games, but they just don’t have Kitbash Model Club’s point of view. It lets models interact with the “real world”, as opposed to crafting an actual vehicle. Even though the models can still gain weapons and the like, they feel more tactile.
There is a youthful creativity, fun, and sparkle in Kitbash Model Club that really comes through in today’s trailer. It will probably encourage players to begin the modeling hobby.
Kerbal Space Program has outmatched its own sequel by this point, so expectations will surely be high for Kitbash Model Club. But its straightforward mechanics also look just a little more accessible than that, which should entertain broader audiences. Hopefully the devs will find the right balance between dense simulation and playful experimentation.
