Synergia, an indie visual novel and cyberpunk RPG from developer Radi Art and publisher Top Hat Studios, has released a new trailer for the Sunrise expansion in celebration of the base game’s third anniversary. It also teases the upcoming art book and comic, which were recently announced together last May.
Synergia originally released in 2020, and is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. You can watch today’s new anniversary teaser on the Top Hat Studios YouTube channel:
Surprisingly, there is still no release date for any of the new content, which would have been ideal for an anniversary. A new tweet from Radi Art hints that some of this anticipated content is “almost here”. When the devs first announced the trio of additions in today’s teaser, they also mentioned that even more content would be announced soon.
Synergia is an excellent visual novel that’s able to pack a lot of storytelling into a single image. So, today’s teaser reveals quite a lot without showing very much. In addition to bits of dialogue, it showcases a variety of stunning artwork, including a wide range of characters and landscapes.
It’s clear that the art design is just as creative and potent as ever for the upcoming comic. It also does a good job of distinguishing itself enough from the interactive experience of the visual novel, without losing the spirit or style. The art book also justifies itself, and since Synergia is already so image-driven, fans should enjoy diving in.
The music certainly goes a long way. The synth soundtrack would be satisfying ambient sounds for any cyberpunk tale, and it would be highly enjoyable to listen to outside of the game itself.
