Warm Snow, BadMudStudio’s dark fantasy roguelike influenced by Chinese mythology, will officially be ported to consoles on October 20th, 2023. It will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

There are also plans for an Xbox port, but it may not release on the same day as the other platforms. PlayStation and Nintendo simultaneously uploaded an announcement trailer, while Xbox did not. Also, console publisher Microids mentions in today’s Twitter announcement post that Warm Snow is arriving “Soon on Xbox”.

For a gameplay breakdown, you can watch today’s PlayStation announcement trailer on the official YouTube channel:

Warm Snow originally launched last year on PC, and it remains highly praised for its combat and expansive range of potential builds. Today’s trailer smartly emphasizes that flexibility, with a glimpse at some of the relic and weapon builds that allow players to progress with just about any preferred playstyle.

Although there have been many comparisons to Hades, Warm Snow brings some extraordinary mythology of its own. This resulted in some very memorable visuals, from character design to attack effects. The graphics aren’t always up to par, but the imagery is very creative, which is its own reward to discover as you progress.

However, Warm Snow can also be quite difficult. Although fans have largely found the controls to be both intuitive and responsive, it remains to be seen if that will translate well to PlayStation, or Xbox later on.

Similarly, it’ll be fun to take this on the go with a Nintendo Switch, but it might require some more concentration than such a casual run. But either way, Warm Snow deserves the wider release, and PC fans will surely be pleased to revisit the Switch release.
