Dead Cells, the highly successful metroidvania roguelite from developer and publisher Motion Twin, has just released two new trailers featuring a free update and Boss Rush mode for mobile gamers. All of the upcoming content will be released on Android, Apple Arcade and iOS on March 7th, 2023.

Indie publisher Playdigious released a full trailer on their official YouTube channel for both announcements, which were revealed at the same time. You can watch each of the new trailers here:

The sheer volume of content coming to mobile is definitely going to please Dead Cells fans. To begin with, the “Everyone is Here 2.0” update absolutely lives up to its name. There aren’t just new Outfits to celebrate the massive crossover of indie games, but also new weapons and lore rooms.

While cosmetics are certainly fun, adding mechanics and areas will be the content that really incentivizes players to revisit Dead Cells on mobile.

It also makes the most of the crossover. After all, it’d be a shame to waste such a great opportunity to translate the unique mechanics and ideas from each collaborating character. That’s what makes them so identifiable and beloved to begin with.

It’s clear that there’s a lot of sincerity behind Everyone is Here 2.0, and it isn’t just a cash grab. There are some fun inside jokes that can only result from a shared universe or multiverse story, both of which are really popular right now. Not just in the gaming industry, either.

The Boss Rush mode is also fun to see, though it might be a little tougher on mobile platforms. Either way, both updates are going to be free, which no fan will argue with.
