Rumors are swirling that Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania Edition, an exciting collaboration between the award-winning roguelite game Dead Cells and the iconic Castlevania series, could soon be released for the PlayStation 5 (PS5). This information comes after the game was recently rated by the ESRB for the PS5 platform.

While it is not yet clear whether the game will be available as a physical or digital release, evidence suggests that the PS5 version will include the already-released Castlevania-themed DLC. Dead Cells is currently playable on the PS5 through backward compatibility with the PS4 version; however, a dedicated PS5 release would mark the first time the game is natively available on the platform, complete with the popular Castlevania DLC. It remains uncertain whether other non-Castlevania DLC will be included as well.

The Castlevania-themed DLC sees the return of the series’ unforgettable characters and gothic setting, melding seamlessly with Dead Cells’ fast-paced combat. Players are introduced to Richter, a warrior who requests help in defeating the great evil within a mysterious castle. Enticed by the prospect of new loot, players embark on a thrilling journey through the castle’s grounds and corridors, facing off against supernatural minions, exploring secret rooms, and unlocking 14 iconic Castlevania weapons.

This highly-praised DLC also features an alternative soundtrack, comprising 51 original Castlevania tunes, alongside 12 reimagined tracks that maintain the game’s distinctive ambiance. As players progress through the castle, they’ll encounter Richter Belmont and Alucard, who provide guidance and powerful weapons.

With the Castlevania DLC already available for other platforms, anticipation is high for the potential PS5 release of Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania Edition. Players eagerly await confirmation and further details on this exciting development for the beloved action-packed game.
