Hideo Kojima's secrecy has kept things from his main actor, but not for long.

One of the leading actors of Death Stranding 2 has revealed that he is completely unaware of the storyline for the upcoming sequel. This is because of the tight-lipped approach of esteemed game director Hideo Kojima, who is as secretive as always. Kojima seems to want to keep the details under wraps until the recording process starts.

During the recent return of Hideo Kojima’s HideoTube on YouTube (thanks, GamesRadar), the actor behind Sam Porter Bridges in the Japanese dub of the sequel expressed his lack of knowledge concerning the new game. The actor explained in a video segment that Kojima has not divulged any information about the sequel’s storyline. He only shared details available in the public trailer.

Kojima further elaborated that Japanese dub recording for Death Stranding 2 is scheduled to commence later this year. The entire process is expected to take a while, potentially impacting the game’s projected 2025 release.

The discussion also touched upon the magnitude of the actor’s role, with Kojima highlighting the substantial volume of lines to be recorded. This tells us that the actor will have a significant role with a lot of lines. Additionally, Kojima said the actor would understand the storyline during the recording process. So, if he doesn’t know now, he’ll definitely know soon.

Unfortunately, that leaves everyone else without any clue about what’s coming. Kojima is very good at keeping these secrets, but we’re guaranteed to hear more about it as time goes on.
