Deceive Inc. has announced the release of Update 1.06, which brings the highly anticipated Misery Empire catalog, introducing new cosmetics, and the addition of a new agent, Red, the Treacherous Seductress. Alongside these major changes, the update also features numerous tweaks and improvements to the game’s mechanics, such as the Heat System, Team Intel, and a rework of the Vault Terminals room.
The Misery Empire catalog marks the game’s first seasonal content update, featuring noir-themed cosmetics that players can unlock using Catalog tokens. To progress through the catalog’s 10 pages, players will need to unlock three out of five rewards on each page. Premium Catalogs, offering more rewards, will never expire and can be purchased at any time.
Red, the newest agent, brings with her a new status effect called Charmed. Charmed spies are sent back into cover and gain a debuff that slows and neutralizes them. If they fire their weapons while charmed, they become heartbroken, removing the slow effect but making them vulnerable instead.

The update also introduces the Heat System, a new mechanic designed to discourage agents from acting recklessly on the field. Agents will accumulate heat when eliminating innocent NPCs, with increased heat levels resulting in more severe penalties, such as vulnerability to damage and the exposed status effect.
Changes to Team Intel include limiting intel use to once per team instead of per individual, encouraging more strategic team play. Additionally, the team revive mechanic has been adjusted to allow players to be revived three times in a match but with penalties to their max health.
Vault Terminals room rebalancing aims to make rooms without vault terminals more rewarding and create incentives for players to explore different rooms. This includes changes to the distribution of keycards, field upgrades, and chests.
Among the general changes in Update 1.06 are tweaks to jump mechanics, solo match XP modifiers, character hitboxes, recoil work, vertical audio, NPC danger range, and more. Other improvements include a reworked result screen, HUD adjustments, increased gadget drop range, and melee reliability enhancements.
Deceive Inc. has also raised the account level cap to 300, adjusted cover regeneration timings, and made changes to the game’s levels, such as adding props and cover to various areas for better gameplay experience.
You can find all of the details from the update on the official patch notes page.
