Demonologist, the cooperative horror game allowing up to four players to identify and exorcise malevolent spirits, has unveiled a significant update, version 0.4.0. Currently in early access on Steam, with a free demo available, the game offers players an immersive experience of teaming up to combat supernatural entities in various cursed locations.

The 0.4.0 update brings a host of additions to the game, the most notable being the introduction of the Kurosawa House map. This new map offers a fresh setting for players to explore and engage in their ghost-hunting endeavors. Along with this, upper floors have been added to the Abandoned House and Lighthouse, further expanding the playable areas.

A crouch mechanic has been implemented, and new radio music has been added for ambiance. There are also new safe house customizations, and an entirely new safe house has been introduced. Additionally, dead players now have the ability to select and eliminate ghost evidence, although they still cannot select the ghost itself. A blacklist feature has been added as well, allowing players to automatically kick others from their lobby, although this feature resets when the lobby is closed.

The developers have also made several adjustments and improvements to the game. Players can now use voice chat when the tablet is open, and the lighting in the Lighthouse has been renovated for a better visual experience.

In addition to these updates, numerous issues have been addressed and fixed. These include localization problems, infinite hunt glitches, flashlight toggle issues, font localization problems with the notes, invisible collisions in the Hospital, some collision issues in Cyclone Street, reading notes sound problem, IK Hand Painting canvas issue, some safe spots in the maps, and certain settings issues.
