Desolatium, an upcoming first-person point-and-click graphic adventure based on Lovecraft Mythos, is coming to multiple gaming platforms soon. Developed by Superlumen and published by Soedesco, this thrilling game allows players to experience an immersive horror adventure set in a desolate world.
Recently, Soedesco unveiled a new teaser trailer for Desolatium, providing a glimpse at the game’s hyper-realistic graphics as well as some bits of character voice lines and some insights on the narrative. At the end of the trailer, it was revealed that Desolatium will launch soon for PlayStation, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Steam, and EGS.
The story of Desolatium revolves around Carter, a man who wakes up in a strange room with no recollection of his own identity. Carter will need to look for a way to escape from there and unravel the truth behind the unfolding madness.
The journey begins when Carter’s friends discover that he has disappeared. Players will assume the roles of four characters, each with their own paths and destinations. The decisions made throughout the game can have unexpected consequences, leading to multiple endings and placing the destiny of the adventure in the hands of the players. To progress in investigating the mysterious events, players will have to visit various locations, face Lovecraftian creatures, find clues and combine objects to solve puzzles.
Desolatium sets itself apart from other horror and mystery adventure titles with its hyper-realistic graphics, in which every level has been generated by recording real locations in 360º, and 3D elements in a very subtle way. Its ambisonic audio generates a surrounding sound effect that appears to come from every direction, effectively creating an eerie atmosphere where danger lurks in every corner. For full immersion, the game also supports Virtual Reality devices, including Oculus, HTC VIVE, and PlayStation VR.
You may add Desolatium to your Steam wishlist now to be notified when it becomes available.
