Bungie is set to introduce a major overhaul for the Titan class in Destiny 2 Season 21 to address the performance of roaming Supers in high-level PvE content. This includes changes to the Arc, Solar, and Stasis subclasses, with Fists of Havoc, Glacial Quake, Sentinel Shield, Hammer of Sol, and Burning Maul receiving PvE damage increases and additional improvements.
Fists of Havoc, despite an earlier PvE damage increase, still underperformed in high-difficulty content. In response, Bungie has reduced the energy costs for both light and heavy attacks while also increasing the heavy attack’s PvE damage and adding a blinding effect to targets near the slam area.
Glacial Quake’s light attack is receiving a damage boost and a 10% increase in thrust speed to better reward players. In addition, Sentinel Shield, Hammer of Sol, and Burning Maul will see minor damage increases to improve their utility in offensive situations. Burning Maul also benefits from a quality-of-life change allowing its heavy attack cyclone to apply scorch over time.
The new Strand damage type is still under evaluation, and Bungie plans to make adjustments to base cooldown times and address pain points observed since Lightfall’s launch. For Titans, the Frenzied Blade cooldown will be decreased based on the number of melee charges stored, with reductions ranging from 15% to 30%.
Bungie will also revisit the Stasis subclasses’ tuning changes from Seasons 14 and 15, focusing on abilities and Aspects that have fallen behind in the current landscape. Titans’ Shiver Strike will see an increase in maximum thrust while in flight and a decrease in downward influence of gravity. Howl of the Storm will benefit from a 31% increase in the freezing cone’s width versus players.
In Season 21, Light subclasses will undergo a general tuning pass. Shoulder charge abilities, such as Seismic Strike, Shield Bash, and Hammer Strike, will now cost 15% melee energy upon activation. To compensate, base cooldowns have been standardized at 91 seconds. Furthermore, Knockout, Shield Throw, Throwing Hammer, and Sunspots will receive adjustments to improve their usability.
The lunge range for Knockout will be reduced from 6.5 meters to 5.5 meters, while its uncharged melee PvE damage bonus will be increased from 60% to 100%. Shield Throw’s base impact damage will increase from 60 to 70, with improved target tracking after a bounce. Throwing Hammer will now adjust its initial flight trajectory based on aim assist targets.
Lastly, Sunbreakers’ Sunspots will see a damage increase per tick from 17 to 22, making them a safer haven for allies and encouraging enemies to maintain their distance. These comprehensive updates promise to significantly enhance the Titan class in Destiny 2’s Season 21.
