There’s good news for fans of the popular Detective Grimoire series. The developers behind the hit Tangle Tower have just announced a brand-new game, The Mermaid’s Tongue, and released a free demo on Steam. This latest installment in the beloved Detective Grimoire series should follow the same formula that has made this franchise so beloved but adds a new mystery beneath the waves.

According to the tweet, The Mermaid’s Tongue follows the return of the iconic detective duo Grimoire and Sally as they embark on another murder investigation. The eccentric Captain Magnus Mortuga has been found dead aboard his enigmatic submarine, the Mortuga, leaving behind a locked room and an ancient stone cauldron as the only clues. This series is one I really like, so I’m pretty excited myself.

The initial fear is that it was a curse unleashed from the cauldron or that one of the crew was responsible. However, it’s never really that simple in the Detective Grimoire series. The full game is scheduled for release in 2024.

The game has players look around the cramped Mortuga and question the voiced cast of suspects. These suspects have their own secrets and hidden agendas. A cool new feature is that Every clue is a meticulously crafted 3D object, so you can better examine them. Additionally, the series is known for its iconic puzzles that require you to combine clues and provide the correct answer.

The free demo available on Steam offers a glimpse into the mysteries that await in The Mermaid’s Tongue. The player can get to know the characters, explore the vibrant environments, and encounter the first puzzle in the game’s early stages, shown in the official demo on Steam.
