In the wake of the recent Diablo 4 Server Slam Weekend, many players raised concerns over the underwhelming loot dropped by Treasure Goblins in the game. Acknowledging these concerns, Diablo General Manager Rod Fergusson confirmed that Blizzard plans to address the issue before the official launch of the game.
Players voiced their disappointment on social media platforms, including Twitter, citing the low frequency of legendary and cosmetic drops from the Treasure Goblins. A tweet from one of the players read: “Can you please look into the loot of treasure goblins, I killed 20+ over the server slam without a single legendary drop and only 2 cosmetic drops. Goblins are seriously underwhelming compared to previous titles, dropping everything to kill one should be rewarding.”
Responding to this feedback, Fergusson replied on Twitter, “Yes, we’re aware and have already made the fix for launch.”
Treasure Goblins are diminutive demons known for stealing loot and all things shiny. They are depicted carrying sacks filled with treasure over their shoulders. These creatures serve the baroness Greed and enter her domain from the mortal realm through portals.
Notably, Treasure Goblins refrain from combat, opting instead to flee into their realm where they believe they are safe from pursuit. In the event that any player manages to follow a Goblin into its realm, they will face the defenses of the Sentries who guard the Goblin there.
Blizzard’s confirmation of enhancements to the Treasure Goblins before the launch of Diablo 4 is sure to be welcomed by players who value the rewarding experience of defeating these loot-filled creatures.
