Disney Speedstorm, the Disney-themed kart game from developer and publisher Gameloft, has just revealed that Angel will be the fifth and final character from Lilo & Stitch to be added in Season 3. The other characters will include the titular Lilo and Stitch, as well as Captain Gantu and Jumba.

The new season is slated to roll out in August, but an exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet. In a new tweet from the game’s official feed, fans got a full image of Angel and her kart, as well as a hint that her Siren Song will be included:

Angel is a surprising choice, and probably divisive among fans. While she certainly gives Speedstorm more range outside of the original film, some major characters were ultimately overlooked.

Lilo’s supportive older sister Nani was definitely a front-runner. And if the devs simply wanted to concentrate on aliens, the panicky and bookish Pleakley remains a fan favorite. Both characters would have plenty of skills to offer.

At the very least, it’ll be interesting to see how the Siren Song is translated for the track, and the other roster additions are still plenty of fun. Hopefully, the devs have found ways to make Angel more distinguishable from Stitch.

The Lilo & Stitch course previews have also been very promising, with lots of fan service that makes full use of the theme. There’s a lot of action in the background, full of spaceships and an island setting that’s fitting for a summer release.

Disney Speedstorm is available now in paid Early Access on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. However, the devs recently announced that the free to play version will finally release on September 28th, 2023.
