Publisher Modus Games has announced that the upcoming beat ’em up game, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, will finally be available on several gaming platforms this July.

Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, developed by Secret Base, is the newest addition to the iconic Double Dragon franchise. It can be played in local co-op, allowing players and their friend to take control of the Double Dragon brothers and experience an exciting gameplay that incorporates roguelite elements. In a new trailer, Modus Games revealed that Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is slated to launch on July 27th for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

In Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons, players will explore the early beginnings of the young Double Dragon brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, as they take on both new and familiar enemies in this alternate story. The game boasts a unique take on the roguelite genre, in which every playthrough offers a chance to experience new actions. Players may also customize their experience by adjusting the game difficulty, which will also affect the number of tokens earned per session. These tokens can be used to unlock content from the Token Shop including characters, tips, and more.

Players will have the freedom to tag in and out as the classic duo Billy and Jimmy or switch it up with Marian and Uncle Matin, as well as with 9 additional unlockable characters, each with their own set of special moves and unique playstyles. Players may also invite a friend in two-player local co-op and work together to clean up the mean streets.

You may add Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons to your PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Steam wishlist now to be notified when it becomes available. Physical copies of the game for Nintendo Switch are also available for pre-order on the GameStop online store.
