Fans of the Dragon Age series will be happy to know that the release of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf seems just over the horizon. Although no official release date has been announced, recent reports suggest that the highly anticipated fantasy RPG might be released sooner than expected.
In a recent financial report found by EG, Electronic Arts disclosed that it has two unannounced titles scheduled for release before March 31st, 2025. Eurogamer confirmed that one of these titles is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. The description apparently matches BioWare’s earlier statements about fully revealing the game this summer.
We’ve been waiting for a new installment to this franchise since Dragon Age: Inquisition in 2014. Although the project, known as Dreadwolf, has undergone some changes, it now appears firmly on track for release. We are pretty sure it won’t appeal to every fan or player just because of the first three games.
The first three games in the series were made so differently, with a different aim and they even felt like different narrative genres. The Gamer did a great job presenting the game divide with their series of articles on which is best. Essentially, they can’t make this game without disappointing the other two games’ fans.
BioWare released a new in-game cinematic for Dragon Age: Dreadwolf in December 2022. The cinematic introduces the main conflict of the title and features Solas, also known as Fen’Harel, the Dread Wolf, a character from Dragon Age: Inquisition. Varric, another companion, narrates the cinematic. That’s all we really know, though.
EA has another game in the works for this fiscal year that’s considered a “partner title,” which means it’s published by EA but developed by a different studio. This game is expected to be released sometime in the first quarter of 2025. We don’t know much about that one, but we’ll likely hear more about it soon.
