After only a month since its release, Dune: Spice Wars has seen a concurrent player base of around 1,500 players on Steam, according to SteamDB. Now, the game has an early access roadmap where players can see the upcoming additions to the game. While there are only a couple release periods listed, Dune: Spice Wars is set to receive lot of new content in the near future.
Funcom, the publisher behind Dune: Spice Wars, released the early access roadmap on their official Twitter account. In just this summer alone, players will be able to access multiplayer and play as the start of a brand new faction. Multiplayer alone will be enough to bring players back to the game, since it ensures the most replayability.
At a point to be announced, advanced units will be added to Dune: Spice Wars. This looks to include Spaceports, ships, and more advanced units that are common in Dune lore. After that, Councilors will be able to double as special agents or fight your battles, thanks to their special abilities.
These new additions are sure to increase the complexity of the gameplay inside the game, with more advanced strategies being created with each new mechanic. Players who are eager to hear about other proposed updates for the future should follow Funcom on social media for more information.
Before the game released, Try Hard Guides was able to review the game, a portion reads “Spice Wars is a game that does some things better than other 4x games, and a lot of things sub-par or worse than others. It’s a game that easily could have been set somewhere other than the world of Dune, and probably would have been the better for it.”
With summer starting next month, players might be able to expect the next Dune: Spice Wars update in a few weeks. Until then, players can battle for control over the world of Dune anytime they want in Spice Wars.
