As showcased in the latest EA Sports PGA Tour trailer, the goal of the gameplay in EA Sports PGA Tour is to offer golf fans all the tools they need to realistically attack every hole on every course in the same manner as the professionals. To achieve this, EA Sports is introducing Pure Strike, along with a collection of 20 shot varieties.

Powered by official ShotLink and TrackMan data, Pure Strike incorporates the three components of every golf shot, including Fluid Swing Mechanics that are highly accurate to a player’s backswing length and speed of follow through, Innovative Ball Behavior that allows every bounce and roll to behave more accurately across a variety of terrain and course conditions, and Lifelike Course Dynamics that play similarly to their real-world counterparts.

A total of 20 shot types are available to players in EA Sports PGA Tour. Each shot type creates distinct ball behavior that is used in a variety of conditions and utilizes a unique Club type. There are also several ways to modify shot types with over 1300 shot variations in the game. Some of the more fundamental shot types, such as Punch, Pitch, and Blast, will see frequent use throughout the player’s rounds. Other shot types, such as Stinger, High Flop Hack, and Texas Wedge, can be used in a more strategic way.

EA Sports PGA Tour is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on March 24th, 2023. Those who pre-order the game will be granted three days of early access beginning on March 21st. Be sure to stay tuned for a Deep Dive on all the EA Sports PGA Tour Courses coming in February.
