EastAsiaSoft, the popular video game publisher known for smaller and successful titles like Mugen Souls, has just released a new blog post featuring updated information for ten of their upcoming indie titles.
Although EAS admits that most of the titles have already been announced, today’s post further confirms a variety of new release dates, pricing information and supported platforms for each of the games.
The full list of titles includes Under the Warehouse, TORINTO, Otoko Cross: Pretty Boys Dropout!, LASERPITIUM, SENSEs: Midnight, Brave Soldier: Invasion of Cyborgs, Robolt, Neko Secret, Homecoming, Reverie: Sweet As Edition, and Boo Party. You can read all of their updates on the full blog.
EAS advised fans to review their recent Late Spring 2023 Showcase to have a look at most of the titles they covered today. You can watch the full showcase on EAS’ official YouTube channel:
EastAsiaSoft has a strange habit of indulging somewhat raunchy little titles, which don’t feel worthwhile or notable. But there are some hidden gems in today’s blog that should interest indie fans.
Under the Warehouse is the first release coming up, now slated for May 17th. Hopefully its Switch port renews some interest. It originally launched on PC last year and was sadly overlooked. It feels like developer GoolWorks was partly inspired by the films of David Lynch. It doesn’t wield retro visuals for nostalgia bait, but instead to create something truly unsettling. It is bizarre in all of the best ways.
SENSEs: Midnight is another highlight, a horror survival game about the paranormal, now confirmed to launch on June 7th, 2023. It feels a little cheesy, but EAS has emphasized the authentic Japanese setting and urban legend approach. Japan boasts some of the best horror films in the paranormal genre, so there’s a lot of potential in SENSEs: Midnight.
Reverie: Sweet As Edition makes another big impression, an action adventure inspired by New Zealand and the legend of Maui. The cultural influence gives it a distinct personality, despite some familiar visuals. It’s officially getting ported to PS, Xbox and PC on June 28th, 2023, with a physical release coming this summer.
