The dream for any Eldren Ring player is to insta-kill a boss with a single attack. Can you imagine how that might feel? After countless hours of being knocked around by overwhelmingly powerful foes, to finally be on the front foot in a fight would be like achieving Nirvana. One Elden Ring player got close to that feeling recently, killing the Rune Bear in one shot and doing so in a comical fashion.
This clip comes from Reddit user dummy_pants. They posted their hilarious interaction with the Rune Bear on the r/Eldrenring subreddit just four hours ago, and it’s already trending in the community.
The clip starts out normal enough. Our Tarnished protagonist is approached by the Rune Bear and readies for a fight. A few well-timed dodges show that our player has quite a bit of experience with this enemy. It certainly isn’t their first time against this bear’s moveset.
Before too long, however, the Rune Bear has our Tarnished on the back foot. A few lung attacks are carefully blocked by the Tarnished’s shield, who to his credit manages not to take a single spot of damage in the entire engagement. The player’s huge stamina bar is to thank for several more blocked lunge attacks, but at this point his stamina bar is running out. He has enough for maybe one roll dodge, definitely not a block, and the Rune Bear shows no signs of slowing down.
And then, amazingly, the entire fight comes to a sudden and hilarious end. The Rune Bear prepares yet another charge attack against our stamina-less hero, and just as the bear is winding up its leap, the Bell Turtle raises its foot. That’s right! This entire fight has been around the foot of the Bell Turtle Walking Mausoleum, who up to this point was completely docile.
The Rune Bear prepares its devastating leap attack, and throws itself right under the foot of the Bell Turtle. The Bell Turtle, surely deciding enough was enough, puts an end to the fight right there by crushing the Rune Bear with a powerful stomp. Our Tarnished, just as surprised as we are watching the clip, throws up a delighted victory pose and collects his runes.
