Endless Dungeon, an upcoming isometric roguelite set in developer Amplitude Studios’ ongoing Endless universe, has officially announced that it will launch on May 18th, 2023. It will be available on PC and both of the latest gens for Xbox and PlayStation. Here’s the full pre-order trailer, which includes a full look at the components of the Day One Edition:
Endless Dungeon is also planning to release on the Nintendo Switch, and it was even teased in Nintendo’s Direct showcase from last September. Although no launch date has been confirmed for that platform, a new tweet from the Endless universe feed has revealed that it will be announced soon:
Endless Dungeon was announced as far back as December 2020, but the devs have released frequent updates about the process, continuing to build hype.
Today’s pre-order trailer includes even more gorgeous cinematics, and perhaps a little more action than Amplitude Studios’ previous strategy games. In that regard, it may seem more accessible, but a lot of the marketing is also banking on how difficult Endless Dungeon should be.
The art design is very charming, and the music still plays a very large role in the game’s personality. Fortunately, the digital soundtrack will be available with the upcoming launch.
Surprisingly, the physical edition comes with a Crystal Search card game, which would surely be valuable as a disparate release. It’s a terrific gift for tabletop gamers, and certainly more elaborate than most physical game editions. Many games get creative with their physical collectibles, usually with figures or replicas, but including a card game is a clever way to add value.
Ultimately, Endless Dungeon feels very much like the culmination of 2014’s Dungeon of the Endless, so longtime fans of the studio should be pleased. It promises to expand on all of that early game’s strengths, with newly minted graphics and mechanics.
