Epic Games has finally fixed the worst part of Fortnite’s Creative Discover UI

Epic Games has finally cracked down on Creative Island cover images in Fortnite, creating a much prettier Discover page.

Fortnite‘s Creative mode had a huge overhaul with the launch of UEFN earlier this year, allowing players to make anything they can imagine. However, there were still traces of the old system, with endless gimmicky buttons on each cover image per island. However, Epic Games has seemingly fixed this with one email.

According to different data miners, Fortnite sent out communications earlier today that informed creators would be penalized if they had too many extra images and buttons in their cover images. The developer actually broke down what can’t be on Creative Island cover images in Fortnite, and they include:

  • Arrows
  • Platform-specific inputs
  • Weapons with squares similar to the battle royale
  • References to any game currency
  • Sales tag style names

This move from Epic is likely to increase the quality of images that get uploaded to the service, with many players previously commenting on those trying to exploit others. These deceptive levels would often lead to younger children entering them in the hopes of the promised V-Bucks or other rewards shown in the cover image only to benefit the level’s creator.

With such a large younger audience, Epic owes it to its fans to make sure that all the information they’re ingesting is accurate and not trying to exploit them in any way. Hopefully, this move also encourages creators to express their level’s best artistic features through the game’s tools that make taking pictures a breeze.

Epic Games has continued to make adjustments and update content creators since the release of Creative 2.0 in March 2023.
