Coin Crew Games has announced that they are putting the final touches on the upcoming DLC, “Escape Academy: Escape from the Past,” with the scheduled release date set for June 19th, 2023. To build anticipation, the team has also unveiled the official trailer for the game.
In “Escape from the Past,” players are transported to an earlier era of the Academy, with the game serving as a prequel to the original “Escape Academy” experience. Players assume the roles of characters Sandra Solange and Eel Barnes during their early days as students at the Academy.
The prequel’s plot revolves around a near-fatal incident at an Academy sporting event involving Headmaster Horatio Windsor. After the Headmaster’s narrow escape from death, suspicions of foul play within the faculty arise, and the onus falls on Sandra and Eel to solve the mystery while managing their potentially dangerous coursework.
“Escape from the Past” allows players to revisit familiar settings from the original game but as they appeared in the past. The Academy’s computer lab, once home to Quanty, now serves as the school archives, and the cafeteria is styled as a classic 1950s diner. Clues hidden within these classes need to be pieced together by the players to unveil the identity of the potential killer.
Following the completion of “Escape from the Past,” the development team will shift their focus to the upcoming free update set to launch in Q4 2023, named “The Tournament of Puzzles.” The new update, which focuses on PVP modes, is set to be tested through further Steam Playtests. Players should stay tuned for opportunities to preview the new content.
