Europa Universalis IV: Domination, a brand-new DLC for the classic grand strategy sim game from developer and publisher Paradox Interactive, has released new details about upcoming countries and features, such as dozens of new government reforms.
Europa Universalis IV originally launched nearly ten years ago in 2013, and it is only available on PC. The Europa Universalis IV: Domination DLC arrives tomorrow, April 18th, 2023. You can watch the full feature break down on the Paradox Interactive YouTube channel here:
Europa Universalis IV has been around for so very long, and expanded with such an extraordinary volume of content, yet it seems less and less feasible to truly give every country its due. With every DLC, the fanbase notes some of the overlooked areas, patiently continuing to wait for some of the more justified ones.
However, today’s feature breakdown was very encouraging in that regard. It stressed a throughline message about emphasizing the countries that haven’t received enough attention. The devs seem to have added some mechanics that won’t just improve some of these countries, but also make them more distinguishable.
This is a smart approach. It will make the game feel more thematic, which is probably one of the highlights of the genre, let alone Europa Universalis IV. Introducing so many new government reforms should help shake up the gameplay enough to renew interest in longtime fans.
Today’s new breakdown also included a much broader variety of general features, giving players a better look at the overall scope compared to last week’s video. Part one of these feature breakdowns was a little shorter and only included France, Spain, and England. That breakdown is also available for review on the Paradox Interactive YouTube channel:
