Today’s Nintendo Indie World showcase just premiered, featuring a host of exciting indie titles launching on Nintendo Switch. Following the usual format, the November 2023 Indie World Showcase presented the indie games and invited their creators to offer in-depth information about their respective titles.
Here’s an overview of every upcoming indie game on Nintendo Switch:
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is the sixth installment in the classic action-adventure platformer series. It serves as a sequel to the original 2002 Shantae and a prequel to the 2010 Shantae: Risky’s Revenge. Players will follow the half-genie Shantae in a brand-new adventure, traveling across the continent of Sequin Land to stop the evil lady pirate Risky Boots.
Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution is coming to Nintendo Switch next year.
Core Keeper
Core Keeper is a survival sandbox game where 1 to 8 players will explore an endless cavern of creatures, relics, and resources as they mine, build, fight, craft, and farm to unravel the mystery of the ancient Core.
Core Keeper will launch on Nintendo Switch in Summer 2024.
On Your Tail
On Your Tail is a narrative life sim game, that immerses players in the seaside village of Borgo Marina as the anthropomorphic young detective, Diana. Players will uncover the mysteries of a masked thief menacing the town as they explore the charming village, make new friends, play games in the arcade, go fishing, and more.
On Your Tail is launching in 2024 as a timed console exclusive for the Nintendo Switch.
Howl
Howl is a turn-based tactical folktale set in medieval times where players take on the role of a deaf heroine plunging into danger in search of a cure across a land ravaged by the sinister “howling plague” that turns all who hear it into feral beasts.
Howl will be available on Nintendo Switch later today with a free demo version.
The Star Named EOS
The Star Named EOS is a narrative adventure puzzle game where players will solve a variety of puzzles to help a young photographer uncover the truth about his mother’s disappearance and rediscover the beauty of the world.
The Star Named EOS is coming to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2024.
Backpack Hero
Backpack Hero is an inventory management roguelike that challenges players to collect rare items as they overcome formidable foes. During breaks from the action, players will use the resources they have gathered to rebuild their hometown of Haversack Hill.
Backpack Hero is launching later today on Nintendo Switch.
Blade Chimera
Blade Chimera is a 2D action game that immerses players in a dystopian cyberpunk world. Set in future Osaka, players will protect the city from demon attacks as they wield the powerful Lumina Sword, a demon transformed into a deadly weapon that not only cuts down foes but can also interfere with time.
Blade Chimera is heading to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2024 as a timed console exclusive.
A Highland Song
A Highland Song is a narrative platformer taking players on a journey through the Scottish Highlands as Moira McKinnon, a girl who runs away from home to reach the sea.
A Highland Song is scheduled to launch on December 5th for Nintendo Switch. Eager fans can pre-order the game starting today on Nintendo eShop.
Moonstone Island
Moonstone Island is a creature-collecting dungeon-crawling deck-building life sim where players will explore 100 procedurally generated islands. As they aim to become a world-renowned alchemist, players will collect 60 adorable spirits in exciting card combat across the open world.
Moonstone Island arrives in Spring 2024 as a timed console exclusive for Nintendo Switch.
Death Trick: Double Blind
In the investigative visual novel, Death Trick: Double Blind, players will follow the journey of an unlikely detective duo as they unravel the truth behind the disappearance of the star magician of Morgan’s Traveling Circus. Players will combine each character’s clues to determine the prime suspect.
Death Trick: Double Blind will be available on Nintendo Switch in 2024. Fans can try out the game with a free demo available later today.
Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition
Outer Wilds is an open-world sci-fi adventure where players will explore a mysterious solar system trapped in an endless time loop. As they unravel the mystery of this solar system, players will scour planets in search of clues and decipher ancient alien texts. The Archaeologist Edition offers the complete Outer Wilds experience, featuring both the base game and the Echoes of the Eye expansion.
Outer Wilds: Archaeologist Edition is set to launch digitally for Nintendo Switch on December 7, with a physical edition slated for 2024 release. Pre-orders for the game will open later today on Nintendo eShop.
