The Lamplighters League

The Lamplighters League feels very much inspired by the likes of Indiana Jones, but opens its adventures up to a whole ensemble of unique characters. Its mechanics feel somewhat run-of-the-mill for the genre, but the art design, banter, and narrative all seem very charming. It arrives on PC and Xbox sometime in 2023, and will even be available on Game Pass.

Mechabellum

This PvP auto-battler featuring mechs proves that the sub-genre still has plenty of breathing room. The designs are classic BattleTech, walking tanks with loads of personality. The game seems like simple fun for mecha fans. Mechabellum launches into Early Access via Steam on May 11th, 2023.

Knights of Pen and Paper 3

Knights of Pen and Paper 3, from the series’ continuing developer Kyy Games, can be wishlisted now. The teaser keeps the game’s signature sense of humor through playful narration and self-aware jokes. The game has mysteriously popped up and disappeared over the years, so it’s nice to hear it’ll finally be playable tomorrow.

Life by You

The teaser for this new life sim looks a little underwhelming, compared to similar titles. However, very little was revealed. An announcement event is set for March 20th, which could showcase new footage and details, so let’s reserve judgement until then.

Cities Skylines II

Undoubtedly the most anticipated and satisfying reveal from today’s show, which is why it was saved for last. The trailer was only a cinematic, but it featured some incredible graphics and narration that hints at an even more ambitious city builder.

It’ll be available in 2023 on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The fact that it’s leaning into next-gen consoles is a good sign of powerful mechanics, and it’s even going to be on Game Pass, which is sure to generate a massive new fanbase.
