Fable’s Principal Game Designer, Hervé Gengler, recently shared on Twitter that the team at Playground Games is looking for a new producer to join their ranks and continue working on the much-awaited Fable 4. This news comes a few months after the game’s producer, Vijay Gill, provided a small insight into the game’s development via LinkedIn. According to Gill, he has been “preparing and facilitating regular game playthroughs and build reviews with key stakeholders,” suggesting that Fable 4 is progressing well and is currently in a playable state.

As mentioned in the job listing, Playground Games, a first-party Xbox Game Studio, is known for creating accessible, beautiful, and fun genre-defining games. The studio is excited to be rebooting the beloved Fable franchise and is looking to expand their diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre. The role they are currently looking to fill, as per the job listing, is that of a skilled and experienced Producer for the Fable team, who will work on the open-world action RPG project.

The ideal candidate that they are looking to hire will have an understanding of art, design, and technical fundamentals, as well as experience in risk management. They will be responsible for driving the delivery of high-quality features using modern development methodologies and collaborating with all disciplines. This permanent role will be based at Playground Games’ state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa.

If you feel you are qualified, you can apply via the listing on Jobvite.

In January 2018, rumors began circulating that Playground Games was developing a new Fable game, with the studio hiring 177 positions for an open-world role-playing game. The game was officially announced during the Xbox Games Showcase in July 2020, with a release planned for Xbox Series X, Series S, and Microsoft Windows. Fable 4 will run on the Forza series’ in-house game engine, ForzaTech. In November 2021, it was revealed that Eidos-Montréal had joined the project as a co-developer.

As Fable 4 continues its development journey, fans eagerly await further updates and the eventual release of the next installment in this beloved franchise.
