Fall Guys: Free For All just revealed a brand-new currency, and updates to the existing system, ahead of its free-to-play launch on June 21st.
Here’s the full tweet from Fall Guys’ official feed, revealing an image of the latest Show-Buck currency:
Show-Bucks will take on some important spending roles, which will soon change how previous currencies are going to be earned and spent.
Players can use Show-Bucks to purchase the Season Pass or items in the store, and the lengthy post specifically mentions that most of these items would have an “Uncommon” rarity or more.
You can earn the new Show-Bucks in the Season Pass or free progression path alike, but the Season Pass will offer 1200 while playing for free will only earn up to 300. If you spot something you really want, you can also invest in purchasing Show-Bucks directly.
Because of this additional currency, players will no longer earn Kudos for simply playing matches. Kudos will instead be rewarded for more goal-based gameplay, including challenges, events and the Season Pass.
Further, Kudos will mainly be reserved for Common items. You can buy Kudos in the Weekly and Daily sections of the store, which is going to be completely reworked. The store will soon be divided into four sections: Season, Featured, Item, and Show-Bucks.
Meanwhile, Crowns have lost their spending role, but cosmetics have been added to their progression to continue giving players an incentive. Leftover Crowns will be converted into Kudos, when the game goes FTP on June 21st.
Although some of these adjustments will have growing pains for longtime fans, who are sure to be disappointed. Unfortunately, these changes are common in the free-to-play genre, to keep games afloat.
And with so many neat tie-ins recently announced, such as Halo and Assassin’s Creed, spending big might just be worth it. You can read more about Fall Guys and other indie hits in our news section!
