Fall Guys has just teased its upcoming season with a cinematic trailer, alongside a full post that breaks down all the brand-new shows, obstacles, and tie-ins fans can expect. Sunken Secrets will launch on November 22nd, 2022, including collaborations with Spongebob Squarepants, Skyrim, and Ultraman. You can watch today’s new cinematic on Fall Guys’ YouTube channel here:

Fall Guys continues to prove that it understands how to incorporate a strong theme. Kraken Slam was a highlight from the official post, as the kraken itself is a more flexible obstacle than usual.

The fact that using rafts to progress will spawn in more tentacles is a clever twist. Beans ahead of you could take various paths, so players can never be truly sure about where the next tentacle will pop up.

The new sliding mechanic is clearly the biggest update, and it’ll be interesting to see how this speeds up the shows. For now, it’s unclear just how quickly players will slide, in Hoop Chute or even Speed Slider.

Naturally, the latter will be faster, but it will require some delicate balancing. Pumping more speed into the game will demand faster reflexes. One can’t help but think of a certain ice slide in Super Mario 64 that was positively infuriating.

Since the game is traveling underwater, a crossover with Spongebob makes total sense. And it’s really fun that niche characters like Ultraman are getting a nod, and with Skyrim, there’s something for everyone.

This might start to feel overwhelming. But Fall Guys has always been collaboration-heavy, so it feels more like a feature than a gimmick by now. Besides, there are always plenty of original designs too, which are often fairly creative or cute. The art design and humor of Fall Guys have always been its strengths, allowing fans to overlook some smaller gameplay issues.
